In September 2020 Aachen celebrated the European Mobility Week. For seven days the public would participate in educational and inspirational activities located around the theater building. Parts of Theaterstraße, which is the main axis leading to and splitting around the theater, were reassigned to pedestrians during this time.
To add an artistic perspective, Jungblut & Herrmann were comissioned to set up the reactive light installation “WirfSchein” on the back face of the theater building. Spotlights were placed behind the windows of three floors and made accessible via laser pointers. Thus viewers could conduct the installation and throw back light on the passing cars, switching the usual perspective.
